Everybody is different.

As we grow older, life becomes busier and so many of us do our best to get through the day to day. With a busy life, comes a busy body. Stiff Necks, Carpal Tunnel, Sciatica, Frozen Shoulder, Golfers Elbow, the list goes on and unfortunately if you’re reading this, there is probably something you (and your body) can relate to.

Part of my passion in this field is to take away the pain that my clients have swept under the rug to get through their day to day. I feel privileged to be the person trusted to help manage their pain and I take that privilege very seriously.

What sets Body and Balance apart from the others? Through my experience it seems the “Massage Industry” has failed in recognizing that every body is different, therefor, it is important to address each client individually. I have structured my services and business to address my clients specific needs.

Whether you are experiencing chronic pain, muscular dysfunctions, injuries, stress or are just looking for relaxation, my goal is to “sculpt” each massage to exactly what your muscular needs are.

Artemisa (or Temisa for short), has always had a love for helping people. She has been heavily influenced by her mother, Cathy Nagy, who has worked as a nurse in many different roles through the years. Inspired by the healing nature of her mother, Temisa decided to pursue laboratory work through Brookdale Community College, where she earned a certificate in Phlebotomy in 2007. She immediately joined Bayshore Community Hospital, where she gained a firm knowledge in both patient and medical care.

This experience in the medical field sparked her interest not only in anatomy, but also holistic health care. The natural next step was the Massage Therapy and Body Work program through The Institute for Therapeutic Massage, where she became a licensed Massage Therapist in 2014.

Temisa immediately fell in love with the gratification that this career offered. Bringing her clients relief from sore muscles and injuries, soothing chronic pain issues and allowing them to relax and de-stress has become a passion for her.
Temisa is very grateful for the encouragement she has from both her mother, who encouraged her to pursue Massage Therapy, and her husband, who has always supported her in pursuing her interests.

My goal at Body and Balance is to provide client focused massage therapy by continuously listening to my clients and tailoring every treatment with your needs in mind to ensure the best possible outcome. I will do this in a friendly, professional manner within a safe, clean and inviting setting.
